Fire and Wet Services Engineer (Pr Eng)

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Professional Engineer with strong experience in wet services and fire protection systems within the building services environment. This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who can lead designs, ensure compliance, and manage projects across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure developments. Duties & Responsibilities

Duties:

• Design and oversee wet services systems (water supply, drainage, stormwater, and sewer).

• Develop and review fire protection systems (sprinklers, hydrants, hose reels, and detection systems).

• Ensure compliance with SANS codes, municipal regulations, and relevant industry standards.

• Prepare detailed engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.

• Conduct site inspections, audits, and commissioning support.

• Manage projects from concept through to completion, including coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.

• Liaise with clients, contractors, and authorities for approvals and project delivery.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and draughtsmen.

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Civil Engineering

• Professionally registered with Engineering Council of South Africa (Pr Eng)

• 5–10+ years’ experience in building services engineering

• Proven experience in wet services and fire protection design

• Strong knowledge of SANS 10400 and fire-related codes

• Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g. AutoCAD and Revit)
