Your Role

Firmware Engineer (m/w/d) Embedded Systems – become part of our development team in Kaiserslautern

You develop smart firmware solutions and bring our hardware to life. As part of an international company, you will work closely with our hardware experts and global teams. You will also accompany product launches at our production sites in Asia and support successful series production.

Your Tasks

  • Development and optimization of firmware in C/C++ for 8/16/32-bit microcontrollers (e.g., ARM Cortex, PIC, AVR)
  • Hardware-related programming (e.g., drivers, interrupts, memory management, etc.)
  • Integration of common interfaces (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc.)
  • Working with RTOS (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX)
  • Debugging, testing, and close collaboration with hardware and production teams
  • Technical documentation and support for product launches in Asia

Your Profile

  • Several years of professional experience in embedded/firmware development
  • Very good knowledge of C/C++, ideally supplemented by Assembler, Java, Python, C#, etc.
  • Understanding of how communication protocols work
  • Understanding of circuit diagrams and datasheets
  • Analytical thinking, structured way of working, and team spirit
  • Strong communication skills – also in an international environment
  • Studies in electrical engineering, computer science, embedded systems, or comparable qualification
