Fixed Assets Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Fixed Assets Accountant to manage and maintain the company’s fixed asset records, ensure accurate reporting, and support compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in asset accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the fixed assets register, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Track asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation schedules
• Perform monthly depreciation calculations and postings
• Conduct periodic asset verification and physical counts
• Reconcile fixed asset accounts with the general ledger
• Ensure proper capitalization of assets in line with company policy and accounting standards
• Prepare fixed asset schedules for audits and financial reporting
• Support external and internal audits by providing required documentation
• Monitor capital expenditure (CAPEX) and ensure proper recording
• Identify and resolve discrepancies related to asset records

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in fixed assets accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and fixed asset management
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage
• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA or in progress) is an added advantage
