About the role

Requirements

  • Matric / Grade 12
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Must have 3 - 5 years’ experience in a similar or related environment within the business.
  • Know-How, Technical Skills and Experience (n. of years and where)
  • 2 – 3 years HACCP Understanding and implementation according to SANS 10330:2020
  • Basic understanding Veterinary and Act 36 requirements.
  • Basic laboratory experience or techniques
  • Syspro – Basic understanding is an advantage and operating a must to learn on the job.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Understanding of Manufacturing processes

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards (HACCP, GMP)
  • Oversee quality control processes and product testing.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, inspections, and PPE checks.
  • Review production records and supplier quality compliance.
  • Identify non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and support to production staff on food safety systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, QA, Maintenance)
