Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Product Manager to lead the development and enhancement of our FX trading platforms. This role requires deep domain expertise in foreign exchange markets, strong technical acumen, and a client-centric mindset to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of Brokers and Traders.
TP ICAP's eMarkets group is responsible for driving innovation and evolution within the business. The group supports the Senior Managing Directors and Desk Heads in growing their business via design and delivery of new technologies and services and driving adoption of these products and services with both new and existing clients.
The Product & Business Development Management team are at the leading edge of this process - each Product & Business Development Manager ("Manager") is tasked with overseeing a particular asset class or product/service - in this instance, Foreign Exchange & Local Markets, championing it both internally and externally. This asset class primarily includes Spot, Forwards, Non-Deliverable Forwards, and FX Options products. The Manager is responsible for the entire lifecycle of the product, from developing and validating the business case, through design, delivery and launch, its commercial viability (both front to back office) and long-term growth strategy. They work closely with all the stakeholders - clients, brokers, IT and other teams internally to ensure the right product is delivered on time and within budget.
Role Responsibilities
- Translate business strategy into product strategy
- Own the product roadmap
- Execute product strategy
- Engage with key clients to gather feedback, validate product concepts, and identify pain points. Use this input to shape the product roadmap and prioritize enhancements.
- Work with client e-FX teams to develop and grow API connectivity across our customer base, improving the quality of electronic liquidity into our venues.
- Drive action throughout the organization to get products to market
- Plan and carry out product launches
- Provide insight to stakeholders on the product and market
- Write high-level requirements
- Manage all aspects of in-life products, including customer feedback, requirements, and issues.
- Lead Regional Product management team in product development, strategy, and redesign from concept through development and manufacturing to market launch.
- Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products.
- Introduce and market new products by developing time-integrated plans with sales, advertising, and production.
- Maintain a working understanding of external connectivity including but not limited to FIX protocol.
- Remain abreast with any regulatory changes which may impact the regional businesses.
- Work with local ops and IT teams to document detailed change requests and defects of system functionality using management tools such as Jira - based on feedback from users either during UAT or production usage (small CR's).
- Provide training for users of the system - Brokers, middle office and IT.
- Produce detailed user manuals and training guides.
- Produce detailed documentation on system functionality.
- Champion regional technology requirements in global forums and articulate both the commercial and technical details around these.
- Create a regional product roadmap with the agreement of various stakeholders and ensure delivery of the same.
- Communicate the current status of the rollout schedule to the project and program managers.
- Highlight and communicate issues that may introduce risk to the project schedule.
- Form a close working relationship with support teams.
- Work closely with the development project team to receive prioritization and schedule updates.
Experience / Competences
Essential
- A track record of client interaction, specifically bank Traders, with whom the applicant is comfortable discussing both existing market conventions and future electronification
- Proven ability to work and deliver technical solutions
- Experience in managing development teams located across multiple geographies
- Experience to run stakeholder forums to review cost benefit analysis with the regional and global stakeholders
- Experience in preparing and present workflow artefacts (Visio and Project plans)
- Direct exposure to end users in the region, preferably FX Traders, with whom the applicant can grow a network of contacts to help develop new product ideas.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the product and business
Desired
- Working understanding of APIs and connectivity to external parties.
- Straight Thru Processing providers and Clearing House processes
- Previous experience providing technical support to Front office functions in a financial institution
