Technical Integration Engineer
Whop
About the role
About
Whop is a financial technology company on a mission to provide the world with sustainable income. Our vision is to create the world's largest internet market, where people can create, connect, and transact all from a single platform. Whop enables individuals and businesses to accept payments, launch ventures, and engage with others across the network. Today, Whop facilitates over $3 billion in annual payouts to people in 144 countries. Growth continues to accelerate, with gross transaction volume increasing roughly 25% month over month. Whop has raised hundreds of millions from institutional investors like Insight, Bain Capital Ventures, A*, and Peter Thiel — including a recent strategic investment from Tether, the largest stablecoin company in the world. Our current team is made up of young, passionate entrepreneurs who grew up on the internet — over 75% built a business before joining Whop, including 53 former founders and 30 who scaled past $1M in revenue. Product leadership includes backgrounds from Meta and Robinhood. For more information, visit whop.com.
About the role
When our sales team closes a deal with a marketplace or platform business that needs to move their payments infrastructure to Whop, someone has to take that deal off the sales rep's plate and drive the technical integration to completion. That's you. You're the first engineer these businesses work with after signing. You assess their existing tech stack, jump on calls with their engineering team, build a concrete migration plan, and drive it to completion. You're not handing off a doc — you're in their codebase, on the calls, and accountable for the business going live on Whop.
You know Whop inside and out. You know how connected accounts work, how to set up direct charges vs. transfers, how to embed the payout portal, how webhooks fire on payment.succeeded, and how to enroll sub-merchants via the API. Sometimes closing a deal means building what doesn't exist yet. If a prospect needs an MCP server, a public SDK integration, an AI agent skill, or a reference app to see how Whop fits into their stack — you build it. You contribute directly to Whop's public developer surface (docs, SDKs, example apps, MCP tools) whenever that's what it takes to land or accelerate a deal.
You also close the loop back to our core engineering team. When you see the same integration friction three times, you drive the product change that eliminates it. You're always on, always responsive, and pushing timelines. This role reports to the Head of Partnerships.
Scope
- Own technical integrations end-to-end — from deal close through the business going live on Whop Payments Network
- Assess existing tech stacks — understand the business's current payment infrastructure, APIs, databases, and workflows before writing a line of integration code
- Build concrete, time-bound migration plans tailored to each business's architecture and constraints
- Jump on with client engineering teams — join their calls, review their implementation, pair on connected account onboarding, unblock them when they're stuck on KYC flows or webhook handling
- Be the fastest response in the client's inbox — unblock engineers quickly so integrations don't stall waiting on you
- Build and contribute to Whop's public developer tools — MCP servers, SDK integrations, AI agent skills, example apps — whenever it helps close or accelerate a deal
- Write and improve developer docs, integration guides, and onboarding content based on what you learn in the field
- Track progress against integration plans, flag risks early, and keep deals from stalling post-close
- Build migration scripts, reference implementations, and reusable tooling that make the next integration faster
- Identify recurring friction in the integration process and work directly with Whop's core engineering team to fix it at the platform level
- Work closely with product to ensure we're constantly adding new value to our offer

- Successfully built your own business or side project
- You love Whop — you've used the platform, maybe built on it, and you're excited to learn every corner of it
- Extremely curious & personable
- World class work ethic
- AI-native — you live in Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and are always pushing for better workflows
- Organized and diligent — you maintain a clear pipeline and nothing falls through the cracks
- Hands-on experience integrating with payment systems
- Strong full-stack engineering ability
- Strong communication skills and instant response times
- High attention to detail; cares deeply about correctness
- Low-ego, non-performative, and process-driven
- A scrappy, experiment-driven mindset: no task too small, no idea too big
- Want to take over the world and are not satisfied with anything other than being the best
- Previous experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, or professional services is nice but not a requirement.
- Familiarity with marketplace payment flows (splits, payouts, sub-merchant onboarding) is a plus.
Your first 90 days

- Within 90 days, you will have multiple businesses live on Whop and a repeatable playbook that makes every future integration faster.
