Founding Software Engineer

About

I’m working with an early-stage team building a dramatically faster way to design and manufacture industrial control systems.

They’re looking for a founding engineer to help build the core platform from the ground up.

About you

• Irrationally curious
• Builds and tinkers for fun
• Can challenge ideas while still being a strong teammate

Your tasks

• Build and own an internal automation stack
• Own and evolve a custom in-house CAD system
• Integrate across systems (CAD exports, part libraries, pricing, quoting, work instructions)
• Build fast, simple UIs that operators and designers actually enjoy using
• Work directly with the founder and shop floor to iterate quickly
• Use AI tools aggressively to move faster
• Build software that interfaces with machine tools

Your skillset

• Comfortable building full-stack systems
• Strong in React + TypeScript
• Strong in Python
• Comfortable with systems/performance work ( C++ a plus )
• Able to work with messy, real-world data
• 3+ years of experience
• As a founding engineer, you’ll have real influence over the tech stack and direction.

Bonus points

• You’ve shipped production software used by real users
• You’ve built internal tools or automation (ops/manufacturing)
• Experience with CAD or diagram editors
• Built scalable data pipelines (structured + unstructured data)
• You enjoy working with hardware

Compensation

• $120K – $180K
• 0.75% – 3% equity
