My client is an early-stage AI infrastructure startup helping developers and enterprises build intelligent agents that work with complex, unstructured data. They've raised $25M+ from top-tier venture investors, grown from $0 to $10M ARR in just over one year, and are on track to roughly double that by year-end. They're hiring their first dedicated recruiter to help them maintain their technical bar as they scale the team. This is a founding seat, partnering directly with the CEO and owning the recruiting function end to end from day one.
What You Will Do
- Owning the full recruiting lifecycle, from sourcing through close, with a primary focus on engineering and AI/ML roles
- Sourcing high-caliber technical candidates through direct outreach, AI-powered sourcing tools, and creative channels
- Partnering directly with the CEO and other hiring managers to define role requirements and calibrate on candidate profiles
- Managing relationships with external recruiting agencies and ensuring quality across every sourcing channel
- Coordinating interview loops and driving a candidate experience that closes top talent
- Building the foundational recruiting infrastructure: process, scorecards, tooling, and reporting
- Supporting GTM hiring as a secondary focus as the company grows
What you bring
- 2+ years of technical recruiting experience, primarily focused on engineering roles
- A track record at a startup or high-bar tech company, with proven ability to attract and close high-quality engineers
- Strong understanding of what good AI/ML talent looks like, or comparable technical depth in a related domain
- Hands-on fluency with modern sourcing tools and direct outreach (LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox, Gem, or similar)
- Sharp, responsive communication and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment
- Comfortable owning the full cycle, from cold sourcing to offer negotiation, without a team to lean on
Bonus Points
- Prior recruiting experience at a name-brand AI or AI-adjacent startup
- Experience recruiting for niche or hard-to-fill technical roles (infrastructure, ML, developer tools)
- Familiarity with developer-facing communities or open source ecosystems
- Experience helping build out a recruiting function from scratch or in its earliest stages
