Finance Director
Doctolib
About the role
About
The "Business Finance Partners" team acts as a financial advisor and strategic partner to the business leadership across all Doctolib countries. In Germany, the Finance Director works directly with the local management team and reports to the Group CFO.
This position has been newly created and is aimed at a finance expert who will act as a trusted partner to the German leadership team on the one hand, and build precise analytical models, reports, and frameworks that enable exactly that on the other. You will be the right hand of the Finance Director and have a real player-coach role. Your core task: ensure that every leader in the German organization understands their financial position, can confidently navigate their budget, and receives clear, actionable recommendations from Finance. You are the person who builds the underlying models and translates them into actionable recommendations that non-finance experts can also work with.
Your Responsibilities
1. Financial Performance & Reporting
- Creation and maintenance of monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports for the German Business Unit
- Conducting variance analyses (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) and translating the numbers into actionable recommendations
- Building and maintaining dashboards and financial models for tracking KPIs and business drivers
- Ensuring data quality and consistency in line with group standards and definitions
- Ensuring support for group consolidation
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Coordination of the annual budget process for Germany in close cooperation with the Finance Director
- Maintenance of rolling forecasts based on driver-based models
- Thoroughly questioning business assumptions and proactively identifying risks and opportunities
- Close collaboration with the FP&A Group team to ensure alignment on frameworks and tools
3. Business Partnership & Financial Guidance
- Primary Finance contact person for the German leadership team — every leader should be able to rely on you to understand their budget status, risks, and room for maneuver
- Provision of clear, structured financial guidelines: budget rules, spending frameworks, headcount frameworks — you make the rules simple and actionable
- Preparation and leadership of regular budget reviews with business leaders: explaining deviations, identifying risks, proposing corrective actions
- Analytical support for investment decisions, headcount reviews, and cost optimization initiatives
- Participation in cross-functional projects with local business teams as a finance representative
4. Closing & Financial Operations
- Coordination with Core Finance / Shared Service Center to ensure a timely and correct monthly closing for Germany
- Monitoring of billing, receivables, and provisions in cooperation with the accounting teams
- Documentation and further development of local closing processes to increase efficiency and speed
5. Data, Tooling & AI
- Contribution to finance data transformation: support for clean data ownership and documentation of assumptions and processes
- Evaluation and use of AI-powered tools for automating low-value-added analyses
- Participation in joint initiatives of the finance community on tooling, frameworks, and best practices
6. Transparency & Education
- Support in building accessible financial documentation and reports for stakeholders outside of Finance
- Support for the Finance Director in empowering business teams on financial concepts and frameworks
