Freelance Architect / Project Manager (Archicad Required)
Location: New Canaan, CT, US (candidates must be located in or near Fairfield County, CT and able to attend weekly in-person meetings)
Employment type: Part‑time contract (~20 hrs/week) for a single project, with potential for ongoing collaboration for the right fit
Pay: $75 – $100 hourly (1099 contract)
What You’ll Do
- Lead an existing project from Design Development through Construction Administration
- Collaborate with the Principal and Interior Designer
- Produce clear, coordinated construction documents
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and clients
- Oversee drafting support and maintain quality control
- Develop and manage BIM models in Archicad
What We’re Looking For
- 10+ years residential experience (wood frame required)
- Strong construction documentation and detailing skills
- Archicad proficiency (required)
- Ability to work independently and execute design intent
- Experience with high‑end clients, contractors, and small teams
- Working knowledge of CT codes, IRC, FEMA, and local regulations
- Architecture degree; license a plus
- U.S. work authorization
Work Style
- Remote with core‑hour collaboration
- Weekly travel to Fairfield County, CT (Westport area)
- Self‑directed, organized, reliable
Compensation
- 1099 contract
- $75‑$100/hour, dependent on experience
