Job Description

We are seeking a senior, hands-on Front-End / Angular UI Developer to join our Buy Side Trading Engineering team. This role is focused on designing and building high-performance, intuitive user interfaces for front-office and operations users supporting equities trading, execution, and post-trade workflows.

You will partner closely with backend engineers, product owners, traders, and operations teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and user-centric UI solutions. You will take ownership of UI architecture, drive modernization efforts, and help migrate legacy interfaces to a modern, component-based Angular framework aligned with a microservices and cloud-based backend.

You will be expected to understand the business workflows behind trading and execution systems and translate complex data and processes into clean, efficient, and responsive user experiences. You will also champion UI best practices, performance optimization, accessibility, and developer standards across the team.

Job Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain rich, responsive Angular-based web applications for equities trading and execution platforms

Develop reusable UI components, shared libraries, and design patterns to support multiple front-office and operations applications

Collaborate with backend Java and messaging teams to integrate RESTful and event-driven services (Kafka/MQ-backed systems)

Translate complex trading, order management, and execution workflows into intuitive, high-performance user interfaces

Optimize UI performance for real-time data visualization, high-throughput event updates, and low-latency user interactions

Participate in UI architecture decisions and contribute to modernization and re-engineering initiatives

Ensure UI applications meet enterprise standards for security, accessibility, and resiliency

Support mission-critical systems by delivering enhancements and contributing to production support as needed

Coordinate and contribute to system and user acceptance testing

Collaborate within a platform operating model across multiple teams and stakeholders

Mentor junior UI developers and promote front-end best practices

Experience in the securities or financial services industry, particularly within Equities

Prior exposure to Order Management Systems (OMS), execution platforms, or trading workflows

Experience designing front-end solutions for real-time data, grids, charts, and dashboards

Understanding of the equities trade lifecycle and front-office user needs

Familiarity with regulatory-driven UI requirements and auditability concerns

Production support experience, including troubleshooting UI issues under time-sensitive conditions

Experience with UI testing frameworks (e.g., Jasmine, Karma, Cypress, Playwright)

Exposure to backend technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, or messaging systems is a plus

Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with traders, operations, and technology partners
