The DoW Mid UI/UX Front-End Developer will play a critical role in designing and developing intuitive, responsive web interfaces for security cooperation platforms supporting the Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA). This fully remote position requires a Secret clearance and involves working within a collaborative environment to create user-centered digital solutions that enhance tracking, oversight, reporting, and decision-making processes related to foreign military sales and security cooperation initiatives. The ideal candidate will utilize React as the primary framework, combining user research, visual design, and development to produce accessible, high-performance applications aligned with DSCA standards. The role emphasizes creating consistent, standardized interfaces through design systems, ensuring compliance with accessibility guidelines such as Section 508 and WCAG, and supporting transparency and efficiency mandated by Executive Orders.

Responsibilities include designing web layouts, developing prototypes, conducting usability testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining website security and performance. • *Qualifications** • Demonstrated experience in user research, prototyping, usability testing, and iterative design processes • Proficiency with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch • Experience with front-end build tools like Webpack or Vite and configuration management tools such as Git • Knowledge of accessibility standards including Section 508 and WCAG • Strong understanding of responsive design and performance optimization best practices • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment • Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving skills and proactive communication • Active Secret clearance • Educational qualifications: • UI/UX Website Designer II: 2+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 6+ years with a High School diploma • UI/UX Website Designer III: 5+ years relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 9+ years with a High School diploma • *Responsibilities** • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain web interfaces for internal and external communication platforms • Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to visualize design concepts and user flows • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and refine interfaces • Collaborate with back-end developers, product managers, and stakeholders to translate designs into functional applications • Implement accessibility standards and ensure compliance with security policies • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to improve user experience and system performance • Develop and maintain design systems, style guides, and templates to ensure consistency across applications • Support architecture documentation and provide input on technical design decisions • Analyze system requirements and assist in the integration of front-end components with APIs and backend services • *Benefits** • Competitive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans • Wellness resources and employee assistance programs • Retirement savings plans (401(k)) with matching options • Financial planning tools and life insurance coverage • Employee discounts and paid holidays • Paid time off and tuition reimbursement programs • Scholarships for early childhood and post-secondary education
