Frontend Developer (m/w/d) - Public & Defence Sector

About

As part of our Engineering team, you will develop secure, high-performance frontend solutions for business-critical applications in the public and defense sectors. You will combine modern UX with the highest security requirements and work closely with IAM, cloud, and security experts.

Responsibilities

• Develop modern frontends: Implement scalable web applications and self-service portals (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue)
• Map IAM workflows with a focus on UX: Intuitive representation of complex role, permission, and approval processes
• API Integration: Connect to IAM, PAM, and cloud systems via REST/API-first architectures
• Implement Security-by-Design: Secure frontends against common web vulnerabilities (e.g., XSS, CSRF), secure token processing
• Optimize Performance & Scaling: Develop maintainable, testable, and high-performance frontend architectures
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate into modern build and deployment pipelines
• Work interdisciplinarily: Close collaboration with cloud, IAM, and security architects

Qualifications

You combine strong frontend engineering with a clear understanding of security, user guidance, and clean architecture.

Must-have

• Good frontend skills: Profound experience with React, Angular, or Vue, as well as TypeScript
• API Integration: Confident handling of REST or GraphQL interfaces and API-first architectures
• Auth & SSO Understanding: Implementation of authentication and authorization flows (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML)
• Security in Frontend: Knowledge of secure token handling, XSS/CSRF prevention, and best practices in the web security environment
• UI for Complex Workflows: Experience in clearly representing demanding processes (e.g., role and permission concepts)
• CI/CD & Quality: Experience with modern build processes, testing, and deployment pipelines
• Very good German: Written and spoken – especially for projects in the government or defense context

Nice-to-have

• Basic IAM understanding: Knowledge of Identity & Access Management, role models (RBAC/ABAC), or cloud identities
• Experience in the public or defense sector
• Cloud & Platform understanding: Exposure to Kubernetes or modern cloud environments
• Agile Project Methods: Experience in Scrum, Kanban, or interdisciplinary setups
• Security environment: Willingness to work on projects with security clearance (e.g., SÜ2)
