About The Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Frontend Engineer to join our engineering team and lead the development of our customer-facing and internal operational platforms. Reporting directly to the VP of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical vision, architecture, and long-term evolution of Forma.ai’s frontend systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of complex, data-intensive applications and a passion for building scalable, reliable, and user-centric interfaces. You will act as a technical leader, guiding cross-functional teams to develop reusable frontend components, establish best practices, and drive large-scale initiatives that enhance the overall user experience and platform performance. Your expertise will influence product strategies, improve system architecture, and mentor engineers to elevate the technical standards across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Deep experience building and scaling production web applications using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript
  • Proven track record designing frontend architecture and systems for complex, data-heavy, configurable applications
  • Experience leading large frontend initiatives or platform-level efforts across multiple teams
  • Strong expertise in component design, state management, performance optimization, and testing at scale
  • Experience developing dashboards, BI tools, reporting, analytics, or data visualization platforms
  • Excellent judgment around UX, accessibility, information hierarchy, and visualization patterns
  • Strong product instincts with the ability to influence product and technical decisions
  • Experience working with complex workflows, automation systems, APIs, or policy-driven platforms
  • Proven mentoring skills to elevate team technical capabilities and quality standards
  • Excellent communication skills to align stakeholders and drive cross-disciplinary decisions

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the architecture and evolution of Forma.ai’s frontend systems, patterns, and best practices
  • Drive large, cross-cutting frontend initiatives spanning multiple product areas and teams
  • Translate complex compensation and operational workflows into scalable, extensible UI components and abstractions
  • Standardize reusable frontend and data visualization patterns across the platform
  • Partner with product and design teams to convert ambiguous requirements into scalable solutions
  • Improve frontend performance, reliability, accessibility, testing strategies, and developer experience at a systemic level
  • Mentor and guide engineers, raising the overall quality and consistency of frontend development
  • Influence technical strategy, roadmap planning, and prioritization decisions
  • Identify and resolve systemic frontend challenges related to architecture, state management, and data handling at scale
  • Bring strong product thinking, operational awareness, and customer empathy to complex problem spaces
