Join our dynamic NAM Experiences team as an Engineering Manager and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of WEX's self-service applications. In this leadership position, you will leverage your extensive background in front-end development, complemented by familiarity with the full stack, to design and develop user-friendly, high-performance web applications. These applications are crucial for our customers, helping fleet managers manage costs with ease. Your primary focus will be on creating robust, reusable, and responsive user interfaces that enhance customer satisfaction and streamline operations.

Your Impact Awaits:

  • Define and execute a long-term vision for the North American Mobility (NAM) Experience, covering card and vehicle management along with mobility payments.
  • Be a hands-on technical leader, taking ownership of system designs for the UI platform.
  • Develop an architectural roadmap that aligns with both business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, learning, collaboration, and empowerment within your team.
  • Challenge existing processes to enhance time-to-market through effective engineering approaches.
  • Lead cross-team engineering projects as the sole owner (STO).
  • Work closely with product, UX, and commercial teams to prioritize development and build modern user interfaces based on customer needs.
  • Implement metrics-driven measurements to enhance developer productivity across the NAM Experience team.
  • Establish effective mechanisms for planning, executing, and auditing workstreams on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with product and commercial leads to maintain a robust roadmap and define clear, interdependent OKRs.
  • Encourage collaboration with other Mobility engineering teams to foster the reuse of development practices and components.
  • Lead the hiring, management, and development of high-performance software engineers.
  • Provide ongoing career development support and feedback for team members.
  • Maintain a detailed resource map to track developers and their evolving workstreams month-over-month.
  • Effectively communicate with and influence the senior leadership team.
  • Provide insights and regular updates on challenges and opportunities within the Mobility domain to your manager.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
  • 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in an engineering management role leading frontend/UI teams.
  • Strong background in building and scaling modern web applications using frameworks like Angular or React, with experience managing UI architecture at scale.
  • Experience in driving engineering excellence in frontend systems focusing on performance optimization, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Proven capability to establish and enforce testing strategies for UI systems, enhancing CI/CD pipelines for frontend delivery.
  • Strong collaboration with Product, Design, and Backend teams to translate vision into scalable UI solutions.
  • Solid knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance considerations in web applications.
  • Familiarity with developer productivity tools to improve code quality and velocity.
  • Excellent leadership skills in hiring, coaching, and managing frontend engineers.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous environments and lead teams through change in a fast-paced setting.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate technical and non-technical concepts.
  • Experience with analytics tools to track customer journeys and translate insights into actionable features.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in building high-performance distributed systems for internet-scale companies.
  • Strong grasp of modern front-end frameworks and tooling in a micro-frontend environment.
  • Experience in building credit card products or developing solutions within a scheme/network.
  • Experience with closed-loop card systems.

The base pay range is $150,600.00 - $180,100.00, which may vary based on qualifications and skills. This position offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes salary, bonuses, and benefits designed to support your well-being.
