Summary
Potomac is continuing to invest in modern data and AI capabilities to support our growing business. We are seeking a Full Stack Developer with 3–4 years of fintech experience who enjoys building data-driven products that combine financial analytics with intuitive software design. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a skilled Developer — strong performers will be considered for a full-time position.
You will work on the Guardrails platform, which allows advisors to design portfolios using risk analytics such as beta, correlation, diversification, and drawdown analysis. This role requires strong engineering skills along with a working understanding of how portfolio analytics function in real-world financial applications.
This is a hands-on development role working closely with Operations, Technology, Analytics, and business stakeholders. This is a 100% in-office role in Bethesda, MD.
Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain full stack features for a fintech portfolio analytics platform • Develop and support backend services and APIs powering portfolio modeling and analytics • Build modern front-end interfaces for portfolio construction, analytics visualization, and advisor proposal workflows • Integrate market data, fund data, and strategist models into application workflows • Optimize performance for large portfolio simulations and analytics calculations • Collaborate with investment strategists and product managers to translate financial concepts into scalable software solutions • Maintain high-quality, well-tested code and contribute to platform architecture as the system evolves
Qualifications
Required • Design, build, and maintain full stack features for a fintech portfolio analytics platform • Develop and support backend services and APIs powering portfolio modeling and analytics • Build modern front-end interfaces for portfolio construction, analytics visualization, and advisor proposal workflows • Integrate market data, fund data, and strategist models into application workflows • Optimize performance for large portfolio simulations and analytics calculations • Collaborate with investment strategists and product managers to translate financial concepts into scalable software solutions • Maintain high-quality, well-tested code and contribute to platform architecture as the system evolves
Preferred • Experience building portfolio analytics, trading, or wealth management platforms • Familiarity with quantitative finance or portfolio construction • Experience with financial data visualization or analytics tools • Experience building tools used by financial advisors, RIAs, or investment firms
Contract-to-hire: initial 3-month contract with the potential to convert to full-time employment. If the role converts to full-time employment, the employee will be eligible for the company’s full suite of benefits, which include medical, dental, vision, 401k, and other company-sponsored benefits available to full-time team members.

The pay range for this role is:
115,000 - 140,000 USD per year (Bethesda, MD)
