About the role
Overview
GovCIO is seeking talented Full Stack Developers experienced in React-Redux and Ruby on Rails to join our dynamic team. You'll be instrumental in building and testing features for VA.gov, collaborating closely with a cross-functional team dedicated to delivering impactful user experiences. In this role, you will coordinate development efforts across departments to ensure timely and efficient rollouts of new features.
Responsibilities
- Develop user interface components using React.js and Redux while implementing backend components with Ruby on Rails, focusing on robust server-side logic and database integration.
- Participate in system planning, development deployment processes, and ensure compliance with software testing standards.
- Contribute to backend development processes while adhering to system guidelines and conducting thorough system analysis.
- Collaborate effectively with a team of developers to assure high-quality deliverables and meet project deadlines.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the team.
- Advocate for best practices and maintain coding standards to uphold high levels of quality.
- Gather system requirements, develop system stories, and assist in project planning and timeline estimation.
- Contribute to comprehensive documentation, including reports and operational procedures, to support clear communication.
- Engage in integration testing to ensure a seamless and robust system functionality.
- Maintain proactive communication with internal and external stakeholders to address project issues promptly.
- Analyze system requirements thoroughly, including data flow and hardware/software needs, to optimize performance.
- Participate in code and sprint reviews, ensuring contractual obligations and project specifications are met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in React/Redux and Ruby on Rails.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Team collaboration experience in an Agile environment.
- Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle.
- Familiarity with AWS and government cloud hosting environments.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- Experience in working with diverse teams including Product Owners, Business Analysts, and UI/UX Designers, driving agile delivery.
- Previous experience with the VA or other Federal agencies and understanding of federal regulations.
- Keen understanding of the VA.gov platform and its functionalities.
- Expertise in managing API services, particularly RESTful API transactions.
- Experienced in system integrations with CorpDB, MPI, BDN, or VBMS systems.

Salary Range
USD $95,000.00 - USD $135,000.00 /Yr.
