Description
Cipher Tech seeks those who enjoy both Web Development and traditional Software Development combined into one career seat. During your career with us, you will provide support in the form of application development, scripting, debugging, and value-added development expertise to a digital forensic lab and reverse engineering section. Additionally, you will maintain existing applications and develop new applications to customer specifications.
Developers will work with a variety of technologies including web services, client applications, plugins, and scripts.
Location: Washington, DC (and surrounding area)
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance web applications and related software components
- Provide scripting, debugging, and value-added development support to a digital forensic lab and reverse engineering section
- Gather and analyze software requirements and participate in the design of new software applications
- Contribute to maintainable software processes, including documentation, version control, and unit testing
- Adapt quickly to new situations and work in mission-critical, time-sensitive environments
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen (no exceptions)
- Must hold an active US government security clearance at the TS level or higher
- Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics, or be within 12 months of graduation
- Must have 2 years (minimum) related experience outside of a classroom setting
- Experience with web applications and plugins in at least one of these technology lists:
- PHP, Java, Python, NodeJS, C#
- Javascript, jQuery, Angular, AngularJS
- Proficiency in one of the following languages: C, C++, Java, or Python
- Strong working knowledge of PHP, Javascript and/or Angular
- Capable of debugging software applications
- Able to gather testable software requirements and participate in design
- Familiarity with maintainable software processes (documentation, versioning, unit testing)
- Able to operate in a mission-critical, time-sensitive environment
- Key qualities: Self-motivated, detail-oriented, strong work ethic
Desirable
- Familiarity with assembly languages and digital forensics
- Familiarity with hex editors, Windows API, IDA Pro, and protocol analysis
- Experience in digital forensics and SQL
- Understanding of network architecture and secure web development practices
- Experience with the software development lifecycle, including requirements and unit testing
- For entry-level candidates: programming experience outside of the classroom (internships, clubs, open source, side projects)

Education Requirements by Level
- Junior Level: Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of programming experience outside of the classroom
- Mid Level: Bachelor’s degree with ≥5 years of experience or Master’s degree with ≥3 years
- Senior Level: Bachelor’s degree with ≥10 years of experience or Master’s degree with ≥8 years

Salary and Other Compensation
The hourly pay range is: $43.27 - 79.32 per hour.
