Role Description
This is a 6‑month contract, full remote role (with the option for a permanent role after the contract term), for a Full‑Stack Developer. The Full‑Stack Developer will design, build, and maintain scalable front‑end and back‑end systems to enhance payroll and HR software solutions. Responsibilities include writing clean and efficient code, collaborating with cross‑functional teams, managing databases, and troubleshooting technical issues to ensure the seamless functioning of enterprise‑level applications. The role also involves staying updated on industry trends to continuously improve the product.
Ship features and fixes across backend and frontend for Axio Online, a payroll and HR web app built with Laravel 12, Inertia.js, Vue 3, TypeScript, Vite, Tailwind, and PrimeVue. You’ll work carefully with payroll/HR data, write or extend Pest tests, and participate in code review. Scopes are provided by the BA team, and projects are managed on Jira.
Key Responsibilities
- Ship features and fixes across backend and frontend.
- Work carefully with payroll/HR data.
- Write or extend Pest tests.
- Participate in code review.
- Troubleshoot effectively: reproduce issues, trace them across browser, application, database, and integrations; fix root causes; and explain what went wrong.
- Collaborate with BA’s and QC’s and relay technical information to a non‑technical team.
- Work within defined scopes from the BA team and track work in Jira.
Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in Back‑End Web Development and Software Development
- Proficiency in Front‑End Development
- Experience in Full‑Stack Development for enterprise applications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field a plus
- Solid Laravel experience
- Strong Vue 3 and TypeScript skills
- Practical SQL skills
- Strong troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis across browser, app, DB, and integrations
- Git and effective teamwork in an existing codebase
- Ability to think outside the box: explore alternatives, question assumptions, and deliver maintainable, safe solutions suitable for payroll/HR systems
