About the role

About Bolt Depot:

Bolt Depot is a nationwide e-commerce leader in the fastener industry. As a family-owned business, we combine long-term stability with a strong commitment to customer service and continuous improvement.

The Role:

We are seeking a full-time Senior Software Engineer to help evolve our custom website and a suite of internally developed web and desktop applications. This role involves both maintaining and improving long-standing systems, as well as contributing to their modernization using newer technologies.

You’ll play an active role in shaping technical decisions, evaluating solutions, guiding development direction, and helping solve complex problems. We value thoughtful, high-quality work and strong attention to detail, prioritizing these over rigid deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining our E-commerce Website, Purchasing, Customer Service and Inventory Management software.
  • Adding new features along with unit tests to ensure no regressions.
  • Updating our technology as needed to reduce technical debt.

You’re a good fit if:

  • You can work independently on projects while maintaining clear communication with the team to ensure seamless integration.
  • You’re able to adapt with a growing company with evolving business processes.
  • You proactively seek out and implement new technologies rather than maintaining existing systems unchanged.
  • You enjoy working with every aspect of a software development stack.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.
  • C# / .NET development, Windows Forms, ASP.Net Core, general experience in both desktop and web development.
  • Good knowledge of web technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Typescript, etc.
  • UI / UX design knowledge and best practices (desktop, web and mobile).
  • SQL knowledge (indexes, transactions, design practices, performance considerations).
  • Experience in developing larger-scale systems, with best practices, software design patterns, software development methodologies and tools.

Familiarity with SQL server, T-SQL, Entity Framework and related tools is a plus. Experience in e-commerce, warehouse management and online order processing is a plus. Good To Have: Knowledge of database tuning, redundancy and backups.

The Location:

Our facilities have a bright, clean and modern feel. The up-to-date building offers generous amenities and is located close to route 3 (Exit 36/Derby Street Shoppes).

Why You Should Apply:

As an employee of Bolt Depot, you are offered a great career opportunity in a fast-growing family-owned business – but it’s more than just a paycheck. Bolt Depot’s total compensation package features an outstanding set of employee benefits including:

  • Competitive pay.
