Responsibilities

• Design and implement new services to address critical business needs using Golang, gRPC, TypeScript, and React.
• Support and mentor team members on coding best practices, testing, deployment processes, documentation, and scalability.
• Leverage your awareness of Coinbase’s platform and development practices to drive improvements across teams.
• Engage in a culture of innovation where ideas are continually proposed, evaluated, and put into action.
• Anticipate potential challenges and adapt approaches proactively to mitigate risks.
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical leaders across the organization.
• Simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and understanding.
• Collaborate with global teams across various time zones.

What We Look For

• Minimum 3 years of software engineering experience, specifically in developing web applications and user-facing features with JavaScript and modern frameworks like React.
• Experience with third-party vendor integrations.
• A passion for working on large-scale, high-traffic platforms and building robust, scalable services in real-world environments.
• Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, BuildKite, or equivalent technologies.
• Knowledge of rate limiters, caching, load balancing, circuit breakers, metrics, logging, tracing, and debugging.
• Experience in event-driven architectures, with proficiency in Kafka, message queues, SQL, or NoSQL databases, gRPC, GraphQL, and ETL processes.
• Proficient in Go programming language.
• Experience with Python or Ruby is a plus, along with knowledge of Kafka, MongoDB, Snowflake, and SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with implementations using OpenAI, ChatGPT, or other third-party integrations.
