About the role

About

Alan is building a vertically integrated health partner that unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one seamless system. Our vision is to make prevention the new norm of care for all.

Mission: Help people live in good health to 100 while helping employers feel proud, turning health benefits from a cost centre into their most valuable investment.

By connecting all aspects of care (private, public, and direct to consumer) we create the most member‑centric healthcare experience, reducing claims costs while generating new monetization opportunities.

We partner with tens of thousands of companies across France 🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, Belgium 🇧🇪, and Canada 🇨🇦, serving over a million members.

Leadership Principles

  • Mission is the Boss — We think long‑term and are methodical optimists who take risks, seeking our mission's success above all else.
  • Distributed Ownership — Accountable enlightened despots: everyone owns their decisions and results.
  • Radical Transparency — All information is accessible and written‑first, so everyone can make the best decisions asynchronously.
  • Always Growing — Direct, positive, and caring feedback, combined with self‑growth ownership.

Who We Are

You. Better. With Alan.

Alan's vision is to make prevention the new norm of care for all. Our mission is to help people live in good health to 100 while helping employers feel proud, turning health benefits from a cost centre into their most valuable investment.

We’re building a vertically integrated health partner that seamlessly unites insurance and smart healthcare delivery into one system.

By connecting all aspects of care — private, public, and direct to consumer — we create the most member‑centric healthcare experience. Through deep engagement, we empower everyone to overcome day‑to‑day health obstacles and live healthier lives.

  • Partner with 35K+ companies of all sizes
  • Serve 1M+ members
  • Achieved 770M+ in ARR
  • Team of 700 people (still growing) operating across France 🇫🇷, Spain 🇪🇸, Belgium 🇧🇪, and Canada 🇨🇦

What You’ll Build and Who You’ll Work With

You will join the Support Area, responsible for building smart products that offer the most delightful and scalable Customer Service to 1M+ members across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada.

  • Developed a team of AI agents that provide immediate, personalized answers to about 50% of member questions.
  • When needed, requests are seamlessly transferred to Care experts who use smart support tooling—a suite of context‑aware and AI‑powered tools—to answer requests productively and delightfully.
  • Extending the conversational experience to new geographies and modalities (e.g., voice support).
  • AI is core to our operations: AI agents have automated 100,000+ care conversations, resolving 40% of all member requests instantly (up to 70% for simpler ones) with a 4.5/5 customer satisfaction score.
  • The Claim Agent autonomously handles ~30% of claims‑related tickets from day one, tackling complex health‑insurance cases.
  • Built while the member base grew 34% in a single year, delivering a 35% productivity gain.

If you want to build AI that works at scale, in production, on problems that actually matter — this is the place.

Is It You We’re Looking For?

We’re looking for Product Engineers with at least 5+ years of experience who get excited about building state‑of‑the‑art AI systems and applying them to real‑world, high‑stakes problems in healthcare.

  • Implement new conversational experiences, working across engineering, data, and insurance expertise.
  • Scale systems and product from supporting 1M+ members to 10M+ members.
  • Influence system architecture and code quality significantly.
  • Mentor engineers, contribute to product & engineering culture, and help build the team (including hiring and shaping interview loops).

You’ll be a good fit if you:

  • Have a strong background in software engineering, systems architecture, with a focus on back‑end engineering.
  • Experience with traditional ML, LLMs, or voice AI systems is a big plus.
  • Are product‑minded: you want your solutions to be used, impactful, and member‑centric.
  • Are self‑directed and pragmatic.
  • Are humble and still willing to grow (no matter your seniority!).
  • Are collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.
  • Are fluent in English (no need to speak French!).

Above all, we look for high potential and curiosity—show us this when you apply! Everything else is a bonus.

The Engineering Team

In our engineering team, we build the infrastructure, interfaces, and applications to provide first‑class service to our members, health professionals, and even ourselves!

  • Join a team of talented, committed, and passionate engineers with strong product interaction.
  • Move fast, own your work, and tackle big problems.
  • Process: those who make product decisions are the same ones who build them.
  • Stack: React, Python/Flask, PostgreSQL in a monorepo. If you’re not familiar but are a keen learner, it’s fine.
  • Deploy daily and practice distributed ownership — you build it, you own it.
