GCP Cloud Solutions Engineer

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate individual to join Ford's Enterprise Technology Group as a GCP Cloud Solutions Engineer. In this role, you will be at the forefront of shaping the future of mobility by leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance our services across the Google Cloud Platform (GCP), on-premises data centers, and various distributed locations worldwide.

As our GCP Cloud Solutions Engineer, you will: • Collaborate with Technology and Software Platform teams to architect robust cloud infrastructure solutions encompassing hosting, computing, databases, and networks. • Define and integrate infrastructure components while ensuring scalability, availability, and reliability for business initiatives. • Utilize your expertise in OpenShift/GKE, alongside hands-on experience with GCP services like Containers, Cloud Run, Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Big Query, and Cloud Storage. • Design and maintain GCP infrastructure for high-performance, scalable, and secure cloud-native applications. • Leverage programming skills in Java, Springboot, Python, or similar technologies to support application development. • Work closely with teams to integrate GCP services within our overall IT architecture effectively. • Stay updated on GCP technologies and best practices to continually improve our infrastructure. • Document GCP infrastructure and deployment processes while utilizing Agile tools, DevOps methodologies, and tools like Git, JIRA, and Jenkins for CI/CD pipeline construction. • Implement best practices for application management and deployment on GCP in collaboration with development teams. • Monitor and optimize GCP resource performance and troubleshoot any infrastructure issues that arise. • Support the creation of technical design documentation and maintain open communication channels by sharing expertise and recommending best practices. • Build big data solutions ensuring security, compliance, and robust guardrails for our GCP environment, in accordance with Cloud security standards. • Work on serverless design and the effective implementation of Container as a Service (CaaS) and Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) methodologies. • Draw from your experience in mixed data center environments to manage Linux and Windows systems, virtualization technologies, and monitoring tools. • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field. • Bring 8+ years of IT experience with progressively responsible roles. • Demonstrate 5+ years of experience with cloud-native GCP and hybrid environments, focusing on effective design and management of Google Cloud infrastructure. • Possess 3+ years of hands-on experience in scripting and automation with languages like Python or Bash. • Show 3+ years of application development experience using Java, Springboot, Python, or similar technologies. • Have 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
