About the role
Job Overview
- The GCP Product Owner Engineer will be responsible for managing the product backlog, driving Agile delivery, and ensuring alignment between business priorities and technical execution.
- The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, defining user stories, tracking delivery progress, and communicating status updates and KPIs to leadership in a clear and business-friendly manner.
Requirements/Must Have
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or Agile product ownership roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Composer.
- Experience with Agile delivery and running Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness or GitHub Actions.
- Strong programming knowledge in Python, SQL, and Shell scripting.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.
Experience
- Experience owning and managing product backlogs aligned with business and technical priorities.
- Experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals.
- Experience tracking sprint progress, dependencies, risks, and delivery milestones.
- Experience providing leadership updates on KPIs, delivery progress, risks, and mitigations.
- Experience coordinating with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
- Experience working in Agile-driven cloud or data engineering environments.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the product backlog ensuring alignment with business priorities.
- Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals.
- Lead Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Track sprint progress, dependencies, and risks to ensure timely delivery.
- Provide regular updates to leadership on delivery progress, risks, mitigations, and KPIs.
- Translate technical updates into business-friendly communication.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
- Monitor KPIs and ensure proactive communication of status updates.

Qualification And Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
