GCP Product Owner Engineer

Job Overview

• The GCP Product Owner Engineer will be responsible for managing the product backlog, driving Agile delivery, and ensuring alignment between business priorities and technical execution.
• The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, defining user stories, tracking delivery progress, and communicating status updates and KPIs to leadership in a clear and business-friendly manner.

Requirements/Must Have

• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, platform engineering, or Agile product ownership roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, and Composer.
• Experience with Agile delivery and running Agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Harness or GitHub Actions.
• Strong programming knowledge in Python, SQL, and Shell scripting.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical deliverables.

Experience

• Experience owning and managing product backlogs aligned with business and technical priorities.
• Experience defining user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals.
• Experience tracking sprint progress, dependencies, risks, and delivery milestones.
• Experience providing leadership updates on KPIs, delivery progress, risks, and mitigations.
• Experience coordinating with engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• Experience working in Agile-driven cloud or data engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage the product backlog ensuring alignment with business priorities.
• Define and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and sprint goals.
• Lead Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Track sprint progress, dependencies, and risks to ensure timely delivery.
• Provide regular updates to leadership on delivery progress, risks, mitigations, and KPIs.
• Translate technical updates into business-friendly communication.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, and business stakeholders.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure proactive communication of status updates.

Qualification And Education
