Solutions Architect

About The Role

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to serve as the technical backbone of our MaaS and AI solutions business in Europe. You will partner closely with our Business Development team to provide pre-sales technical expertise, design AI/ML architectures, and enable customers to successfully adopt Alibaba Cloud's AI platform and model services. This is a high-impact role bridging cutting-edge AI technologies with real-world customer needs.

Key Responsibilities

Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

• Partner with BD managers throughout the sales cycle, providing technical credibility and solution design support
• Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer AI/ML workloads, data infrastructure, and business objectives
• Deliver compelling product demonstrations, technical presentations, and proof-of-concept engagements
• Address technical objections and architect solutions that meet customer requirements

Solution Design & Architecture

• Design end-to-end AI/ML architectures leveraging Alibaba Cloud's MaaS offerings (Qwen/Tongyi models, PAI platform, EAS inference services)
• Create reference architectures for common use cases: LLM fine-tuning, RAG applications, model serving, multi-modal AI
• Develop technical proposals, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps
• Ensure solutions align with European data residency, security, and compliance requirements (GDPR, AI Act)

Enablement & Ecosystem

• Build reusable demo assets, technical documentation, and best practice guides
• Train and enable BD team members on technical product capabilities
• Contribute to partner technical enablement programs
• Gather field feedback to inform product development and localization priorities

Job Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, or AI/ML engineering roles
• Hands-on experience with large language models, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, RAG, and inference optimization
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure (compute, storage, networking) and ML platforms
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face)
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and business audiences
• Fluent in English; French is a strong plus

Preferred

• Background in serving AI-native startups or enterprise AI transformation projects
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and MLOps practices
• Knowledge of European AI regulations and data compliance frameworks
