About the role
Job Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering (Masters preferred)
- 3+ years of geotechnical engineering experience (consulting environment preferred)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months
- Proficiency with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, LPILE, or equivalent
- Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills
- Valid drivers license and willingness to travel for field work
Responsibilities
- Conduct geotechnical investigations, including field exploration and laboratory testing programs
- Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and geologic data to assess subsurface conditions
- Prepare geotechnical reports and engineering recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and pavements
- Design shallow and deep foundation systems, retaining walls, and ground improvement techniques
- Perform slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity analyses
- Coordinate with civil, structural, and environmental engineering teams
- Oversee field work and construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
Salary and Benefits
- Salary range of $80,000-$100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
