Position: GL Accountant
Location: Mumbai (Goregaon East)
Shift: 11 AM – 8 PM
Overview
As a General Ledger Accountant, ISS seeks a highly driven and skilled professional to join our team. In this capacity, you will be in charge of managing the accounting procedures for our EMEA region. Daily financial operations and month‑end obligations will be your main priorities. You will ensure prompt and accurate activity recording while collaborating closely with the finance team to achieve pressing month‑end requirements.
Responsibilities
- Independently handle month‑end close for EMEA entities.
- Finalization up to the preparation of financial statements; prepare balance sheet reconciliation, MIS and bank reconciliations.
- Analyse trial balance, identify corrections, and make necessary adjusting entries.
- Coordinate with auditors and several in‑house teams for interim audit as well as statutory audit of EMEA entities.
- Review & approve invoices and expenses; post & process journal entries in the accounting system.
- Create & maintain fixed asset register in the accounting system and prepare monthly reconciliation for the same.
- Handle projects, prepare reports and financial analysis as requested by managers from EMEA/USA.
- Apply working knowledge of direct and indirect taxes to assist with accounting.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field with 5+ years of experience.
- CA intermediate, with 3 years of experience; Articleship is preferred.
- Experience in fixed asset reconciliation, depreciation, compiling data for statutory auditors, accounts finalization & month‑end close process.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.).
- Good command of the English language (speaking and writing).
- Experience in SAP is preferred.
- Experience in Swiss or German GAAP companies is preferable.
