About

Join the Payments Controller team within the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB). As a Product Controller, you will help ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the firm’s books and records, with a focus on general ledger, financial reporting, and a strong control environment. You will partner with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Technology, and the business to support month-end close activities, perform analytical review of financial results, and drive adherence to firmwide control standards. You will join a high-impact Payments Controller team supporting a dynamic and growing global business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end and quarter-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Perform analytical review of P&L and Balance Sheet, identifying key drivers, trends, and potential risks
  • Prepare financial reporting and support management commentary for internal stakeholders
  • Ensure adherence to legal entity control standards, including substantiation, documentation, and governance requirements
  • Support marketing and business accrual processes to ensure completeness and accuracy of expense recognition
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve control and reporting issues in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assist in strengthening controls supporting financial reporting and new business initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • 2–4+ years of experience in Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or a related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • Basic understanding of financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet) and financial accounting concepts
  • Experience supporting month-end close processes in a financial services environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and control
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
  • Working knowledge and basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to legal entity reporting and control frameworks
  • Familiarity with marketing accruals or expense management processes
  • Basic understanding of data analytics and emerging AI concepts applied to finance
  • Experience with CDGL, Anaplan/Essbase, and Paragon
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and systems
