Role Overview

Global Principal Product Manager, Mobile and Audio Solutions
As the Global Principal Product Manager, Mobile and Audio Solutions, you will drive key products as part of our mobile and audio solutions team. Your vision and product expertise will allow us to engage our customers and industry partners in new and meaningful ways. You are passionate about product design, new technologies, conceiving, building and maintaining products that will transform mobile and audio ecosystems. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of people, functions and industry‑leading partners. This role will be based in San Jose, CA, reporting to the Head of Product and Innovation, Mobile and Audio Solutions. Your role will be global with domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development (idea to launch) of innovative, industry‑leading products (hardware and software) collaborating closely with mobile ecosystem partners that uniquely serve our target audiences.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and software product managers, making sure the envisioned experience is delivered through all phases of the project.
  • Obsess over consumer and enterprise customers.
  • Work closely with the insights and design team to develop a deep understanding of mobile and audio needs, using market and user research, data analytics, user testing and beta programs.
  • Inspire cross‑functional teams with a product vision.
  • Collaborate with all stakeholders to understand problems, desired outcomes and craft solutions.
  • Translate product strategy and target audience understanding into a compelling product vision and detailed product requirements.
  • Influence key stakeholders to align resources and prioritization.
  • Make hard, high‑judgment trade‑offs between desirability, viability, feasibility and sustainability, leveraging functional expertise from all team members to drive decisions on optimal product definition.
  • Work closely with business, marketing and communications teams on go‑to‑market and product launch activities.
  • Represent the company and products at press briefings and industry events.
  • Maintain the relationship with our customer care team, making sure they have the right information to support our users, training customer experience agents and building setup guides.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with the direct project teams as well as with the broader cross‑functional organization and senior management, to ensure that the product strategy is successfully executed and that business segment objectives are met.
  • Possess in depth knowledge of what our competition has in the market and assess opportunities for users and key vertical markets.

Key Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product management with successful launches of hardware and software in mobile and/or audio solutions.
  • Demonstrable experience working closely with ecosystem partners on product development and product launches.
  • Direct experience working in smartphone, tablet and/or speaker products is preferred.
  • Strong product strategy acumen - capable of big picture, fresh innovation thinking.
  • Experience with defining the end‑to‑end product experience - product definition, pricing, positioning and launch; translate customer and market insights into a concrete product definition.
  • Demonstrable success of having delivered multi‑year revenue growth results.
  • Decisive and able to deal with ambiguity, guiding other team members through it.
  • Recognized leadership skills – strong ability to lead directly and by influence.
  • You know how to lead with a team of cross‑functional peers and have them excitedly join you on a journey to create and build the best possible product experience for our customer.
  • Strong understanding of product (hardware and software) life cycle process, engineering principles and design constraints.
  • Ability to thrive in a multi‑disciplinary environment and to both lead and collaborate in cross functional teams.
  • Experience in both a global role and a regional role is a plus.
  • A self‑starter—passionate start‑up mentality and "can do" attitude.
  • Best candidate will be curious, collaborative, insightful, and creative, with an entrepreneurial mindset.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation

This position offers an annual base salary typically between $160,000 and $225,000. In certain circumstances, higher compensation will be considered based on the business need, candidate experience, and skills.
