Back-end Engineer

Responsibilities

• Working closely with the Product and Infrastructure teams to plan, architect, and implement the core product.
• Developing data aggregators for blockchains.
• Developing new Golang microservices within the Kiln stack.
• Taking part in automation and deployment processes.
• Developing frameworks.
• Ensuring services communicate seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly (daytime, no on-calls).
• Mentoring or brainstorming with other backend developers.
• Helping attract, close, and grow other talented team members.

Skills & background

• Strong communication skills both in French & English to facilitate the design of scalable architectures with SREs.
• French can be a 'nice to have' if you have several professional web3 experiences.
• Golang (over 1 year of experience).
• Over 4 years of experience designing, building, and deploying user-facing, infrastructure-related, and/or API-based products (Python, PHP...).
• Experience coding in JavaScript and TypeScript is a plus.
• Experience working with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Continuous Integration is a plus.
• Familiarity with GCP is a plus.

Soft skills

• Curiosity and the ability to dig into a topic and follow through.
• Team spirit: discuss, do not try to impose.
• Be pragmatic to not over-engineer unnecessarily: startups need to quickly adapt.
• Own what is coded and shipped to production.
• Trust & clear communication.
• Real interest in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
