Apex Systems has an Immediate Need for a (100% Remote) Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer !! This will be an Est. - Job Title: Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer
- Location: 100% Remote
- Contract Layout: Est. "2 Month Contract" with possible extension
- Contract Rate: $71.00 - $75.00 / Hourly on W2
Requirements
- Able to Eligible / Able to Work on W-2 without Sponsorship
- 1-2 Years of Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineering Experience
- 3+ Years of Cloud Engineering/DevOps/Software Engineering or Similar Experience
Job Responsibilities
Cloud Engineering & Delivery
- Design, build, and operate cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform with an emphasis on reliability, scalability, performance, and security.
- Implement Google Cloud Platform-based data platforms supporting batch, streaming, analytics, and AI/ML use cases using services such as BigQuery, Bigtable, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, Cloud Storage, Looker, and Vertex AI.
- Build and manage infrastructure as code (Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar) for consistent, repeatable cloud environments.
- Contribute directly to greenfield platform builds as well as modernization and migration of existing workloads into Google Cloud Platform.
Platform Operations & Optimization
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting using Google Cloud Operations (Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Trace, Error Reporting).
- Perform hands-on performance tuning and cost optimization, including query optimization, storage tiering, data lifecycle management, and rightsizing resources.
- Assist with platform cost modeling and actively identify opportunities for cost savings across environments.
- Participate in on-call or operational support rotations as needed to ensure platform stability.
