Job Description
Grant writer to support the development and submission of responses to Requests for Technology Proposals (RFTPs) from U.S. federal government agencies. This is a contractor role requiring rapid turnaround, strong technical writing skills, and the ability to synthesize the firm’s technology portfolio into compelling, compliant proposals.
Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and respond to RFTPs issued by U.S. government agencies on behalf of company, typically within one business week of receipt
- Collaborate across the team to gain insight into knowledge areas and relevant projects to promote in the proposals
- Research and compellingly describe the company’s fit-for-purpose network profiles, strategic and technical approach to key deliverables, and other differentiators
- Research and describe why firm is best suited to provide the scouting outlined in the RFTP. This may include brief descriptions and/or web links to past projects that support this description
- Highlight innovative techniques or tools that will be used and be able to explain how these will address the specific needs of the project
- Provide a clear timeline for project tasks and deliverables including the project management methods that will be used; oversee timelines to ensure the best possible supporting content has been incorporated and that proposals are submitted in a timely manner
Qualifications
- Exceptional written communication skills; able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, persuasive prose
- 8+ years of experience writing and managing federal government grant applications or proposals (RFPs, RFTPs, RFQs, BAAs, or similar), a plus
- Familiarity with U.S. federal procurement processes and platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, FedBizOpps/beta.SAM, grants.gov)
- Strong research skills with the ability to quickly get up to speed on unfamiliar science or technology domains
- Highly organized and deadline-driven with experience managing rapid-turnaround deliverables
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote, project-based environment
- Background in one or more STEM disciplines (science, technology, engineering, mathematics), with the curiosity to learn and expand their knowledge of technical systems
