We are looking for a Satellite Ground Engineer (d/m/f) focused on ground stations and telecommunication for national space projects within Airbus Space Engineering, located in Friedrichshafen, Germany. You will be part of the System Architecture & Lead Engineering Team, working on Space & Ground Systems Architectures, Secure Space Solutions, Systems Engineering, Development, Operations, Data Processing, and Performance Modelling.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the definition and design of Satellite Ground Systems using state-of-the-art methods (Scrum, Model-Based Systems Engineering)
- Contribute to requirements analysis and architecture definition for Ground Segments regarding telecommunication and ground stations
- Design trade-offs and interface management: evaluate and optimize design decisions, identify internal and external interfaces, create interface documents (ICD)
- Specify hardware and software elements and redundancy concepts
- Calculate link budgets
- Support system development, assembly, integration, verification (AIV)
- Contribute to proposals, studies, research and development activities
- Coordinate technically with subcontractors and partners
- Collaborate interdisciplinarily with Space Segment Engineering, Performance Engineering, Operations Engineering
Qualifications
- Completed university degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Communications (Network), or equivalent qualification
- Knowledge and practical experience in space industry processes and standards (e.g., ECSS, CCSDS)
- Experience in systems engineering and with corresponding methods and tools
- Interest and ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Team-oriented work style
- Fluent German and English; French language skills are a plus
