Robert Walters are growing with a rapidly expanding multinational to hire a newly created Group Financial Accountant. This role is based in Wicklow and offers hybrid working of three days in the office. Excellent package in the €75,000 - €80,000 range DOE plus excellent benefits.

This company is a growing international distribution company operating across multiple markets, currencies, and VAT jurisdictions. The company supports a diverse customer base and works closely with group entities and supply partners globally. The finance function plays a key role in supporting business decision-making, maintaining strong financial controls, and delivering timely and accurate reporting in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

Corporate Reporting and Month-End

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Assist with corporate and group reporting, including reconciliations, journals, and variance analysis
  • Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations
  • Post journals including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and foreign exchange revaluations
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes, including analysis of budget versus actual performance
  • Monitor and analyse company margins, supporting management reporting, budgeting, and commercial decision‑making.

Statutory Reporting and Audit Support

  • Assist with the preparation of Irish statutory financial statements
  • Prepare audit files and supporting schedules
  • Respond to auditor queries and assist during audit fieldwork
  • Account for multi-currency transactions and month-end FX revaluations
  • Support VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including Ireland, United Kingdom and EU VAT
  • Assist with VAT reconciliations and maintenance of supporting documentation

Key requirements of the Group Financial Accountant

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' post‑qualification experience
  • Understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting fundamentals
  • Experience in a distribution FMCG is essential
  • Exposure to multi-entity or group environments
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to work to deadlines, particularly in a month-end environment
  • Well-organised with good time-management skills
