About the role
Introduction
An Agritalent client, a leading agribusiness, seeks a strategic and visionary Group Manager: Corporate Marketing and Communication to drive a cohesive brand identity and communication strategy across the group.
In this pivotal role, you will act as a strategic partner to its various business units, co-creating tailored marketing strategies that align with specific market demands and growth goals.
You will ensure that the corporate positioning and brand influence support business performance and fulfil the company’s purpose.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
Strategic marketing integration
- Strategic alignment: Translate overarching company and divisional objectives into integrated marketing strategies that support the Group strategy.
- Business unit partnership: Partner with business unit leaders to conduct market segmentation, competitor analysis, and brand positioning exercises.
- Growth initiatives: Translate business objectives into tailored marketing plans that drive sales, product launches, and commercial growth.
Brand and communication stewardship
- Brand protection: Protect and grow the Company’s brand reputation across all traditional and digital platforms.
- Identity consistency: Oversee the brand architecture to ensure clarity, relevance, and consistency across all touchpoints and external facing materials.
- Guideline management: Continuously update brand guidelines and toolkits to align with evolving market needs and business goals.
Campaign and content leadership
- Corporate Communication: Lead high-level communication initiatives, including stakeholder messaging, internal communication, as well as crisis communication.
- Executive support: Draft and review corporate publications, speeches, press releases, and executive briefings for the board and EXCO.
- Storytelling: Oversee media relations and thought leadership to ensure impactful community engagement and targeted segment messaging.
Data-driven decision-making
- ROI optimisation: Establish and track KPI’s for all marketing activities, providing regular reports to EXCO on campaign performance and customer reach.
- Digital strategy: Guide business units on digital engagement best practices, including SEO, CRM systems, and social media advertising.
- Market insight: Use data and customer insights to identify seasonal trends, commercial opportunities, and customer pain points.
Team and stakeholder management
- Leadership and mentorship: Lead the central marketing and communication team by providing performance feedback, upskilling, and succession planning.
- Vendor oversight: Manage relationships with external agencies, media buyers, designers, and event planners to ensure high-quality delivery.
- External representation: Represent the Companyt in key marketing forums and maintain partnerships with community partners and the media.
Social responsibility and impact
- CSR framework: Design and implement a social responsibility strategy that aligns corporate citizenship with core business objectives.
- ESG reporting: Ensure all social responsibility projects meet legal and ethical standards and contribute to the group’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.
- Purpose-led marketing: Collaborate with teams to authentically communicate social responsibility stories that enhance the group's reputation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication, Business, or a related field (Honors preferred).
- Experience: 7–10 years of proven experience in corporate marketing and communications.
- Industry knowledge: Experience in diversified environments such as agriculture, FMCG, or secondary industries is a distinct advantage.
- Language: Must be fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in digital marketing, CRM systems, data literacy, and ROI analysis.
