Job Summary:
As a Data Analyst at GDI, you will support strategic decision-making by designing and building analytics-ready datasets and delivering valuable insights across the organization. This collaborative role requires strong technical skills in SQL, Python, data modelling, and data visualization, as well as a solution-oriented mindset. You will work closely with data engineers, QA, and business analysts to help meet the analytical needs of cross-functional business stakeholders. As a core member of the Analytics team, you will contribute to a data-driven culture and build high-quality dashboards and analyses that inform business strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Build accurate, informative, and stable stakeholder-facing dashboards and reports in Sigma with guidance from senior team members
- Collaborate with data engineers to support scalable and reliable data pipelines
- Assess requirements to complete assigned tasks and communicate expected timelines, raising any workload challenges to your manager in a timely manner
- Conduct analyses related to sales performance by applying techniques such as trend analysis, anomaly detection, forecasting, customer segmentation, and multivariate analysis to uncover actionable insights
- Multitask by supporting three departments at once (e.g., Digital Marketing, Finance, and Operations)
- Clearly communicate findings and insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Participate actively in team standups and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to accomplish shared goals
- Contribute ideas for improving tooling, automation, and self-service analytics as you grow in the role
- Follow best practices in data governance and analysis by using version control (GitHub) and securely accessing, storing, and handling data
Required Qualifications:
- 1-3 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a similar role
- Degree in Computer science, mathematics, business, or a related field
- Proficient SQL skills and experience with dbt, Snowflake, and BigQuery
- Willingness to learn and engage in version control and peer reviews via GitHub
- Familiarity with Python for statistical analysis, API usage, and data transformation
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Sigma, Looker, Power BI, or Tableau
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and curiosity
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong communication skills and a desire to grow in presenting data to varied audiences
