Join GDI's Digital and Product Design team as a Team Lead, Product Design to guide and support our talented product designers. In this collaborative environment, you will work closely with fellow designers, product managers, engineers, and cross‑functional teams to transform the retail shopping journey and provide an outstanding shopping experience.
Responsibilities
- Mentor and guide a team of product designers, fostering their growth and development.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional leaders to align design goals with business objectives and product roadmaps.
- Lead the execution of the design vision, ensuring a cohesive user experience across all touchpoints.
- Oversee the day‑to‑day product design workflow, from early research to ensuring that the final build aligns with visual designs.
- Extract practical solutions from complex challenges within a user‑centric, data‑informed feedback loop.
- Uphold high‑quality, cohesive experiences with meticulous attention to visual and interaction details, embracing the role of a craftsperson.
- Advocate for the customer's perspective in all design decisions.
- Provide hands‑on design support as a primary responsibility, especially for high‑impact or complex features.
- Collaborate in establishing our design system to enhance the craft, scalability, and accessibility of our products.
- Identify and execute new opportunities for product development.
Qualifications
- An outstanding portfolio showcasing a strong foundation in UX and visual design.
- Expertise in design thinking and human‑centered design methodologies.
- Proficiency with the Figma design tool.
- Experience working in a cross‑functional environment with product managers, developers, and other designers.
- 4+ years of professional experience designing digital products.
- Experience in mentoring junior designers or leading design projects.
- Experience in e‑commerce web and app design is a bonus.
