Hands-on Engineering Manager .Net Fullstack
Location: Hybrid - Initial onboarding: first 3 months, 3 days per week on site in Colmar, fully covered After onboarding: one day every two weeks on site in Colmar, travel and hotel covered
Our client ENSO is building a SaaS platform to replace a legacy ERP used in temporary staffing and recruitment. The CTO is based in Paris and works in the same hybrid setup between Paris and Colmar. ENSO is backed by PSG Equity, one of the largest investors in software companies in Europe.
The platform covers the full temporary work lifecycle, including sourcing, contracts, compliance, planning, time tracking, invoicing and payroll.
The role This is a hands-on Engineering Manager role with a clear split between leadership and development. You will spend approximately 50% of your time on hands-on development and 50% on team leadership and delivery.
You lead a team of 4 to 5 engineers and are accountable for delivery, quality and output. You organize work, remove blockers and drive predictable execution while staying close to the codebase and technical decisions. You guide architecture and technical direction across the team, balancing delivery speed with long-term maintainability. You take ownership of technical debt and continuously improve ways of working across testing, CI CD and observability.
You are responsible for people management. This includes coaching engineers, supporting growth, giving feedback and building a team culture with ownership and accountability. You work closely with the CTO and other stakeholders to align on priorities, roadmap and execution.
Responsibilities • Lead and manage a team of 4 to 5 engineers • Own delivery, planning and execution • Contribute hands on to the codebase daily • Guide architecture and technical decisions • Improve engineering practices across testing, CI/CD and observability • Coach and develop team members • Create a structured and predictable way of working
Technical skills • Strong experience in full-stack SaaS development • Experience with .NET and Vue • Understanding of modern systems, including APIs, AWS, Kubernetes, CI CD, observability and security • Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Copilot, Cursor or similar • Ability to take ownership of technical decisions • Professional-level English and fluent French
Experience • Proven experience in a team lead or Engineering Manager role • Strong hands-on engineering background • Experience in SaaS or product environments • Experience in staffing, recruitment, HRIS, payroll or ERP is a plus • Experience in scaling or improving engineering environments is relevant
