About the role

Role Summary:

Manage sustaining engineering activities for Microsoft Surface products, supporting global factories and repair centers. Drive quality, cost, and performance improvements throughout the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead sustaining projects across components, testing, processes, and design changes
  • Perform issue analysis, root cause investigation (FI/FA), and implement corrective actions
  • Analyze manufacturing performance metrics and conduct ROI evaluations
  • Coordinate with global manufacturing, repair, and internal teams
  • Manage BOM updates, change reviews, and documentation for production processes
  • Track project progress, risks, and deliverables; provide regular status updates
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and follow up on action items

Requirements:

  • 5–8 years of program/project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical/Industrial preferred)
  • Experience in manufacturing or hardware environments
  • Knowledge of failure analysis (FI/FA) and product lifecycle management
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and tools like TFS is a plus
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
