Your Tasks

• Strategic Development & Leadership Perspective
• You will work closely with the current management, strategically develop the general ledger accounting, and gradually take on leadership responsibility – including deputizing for and later taking over the entire department.
• General Ledger Accounting & Financial Statements
• You will manage ongoing general ledger accounting and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB.
• Balance Sheet Accounting & Policy Development
• You will analyze balance sheet accounting policies, develop new approaches, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements.
• Change & Transformation
• You will identify optimization potential, drive automation, and support change processes with a clear focus on quality and efficiency.
• Communication & Stakeholder Management
• You will work closely with various departments as well as auditors and tax advisors, and contribute your expertise in a targeted manner.
• Projects & Special Topics
• You will participate in diverse projects – from corporate law issues and mergers to complex balance sheet accounting questions – and work closely with IT and other departments.

Your Profile

• Completed degree in Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or a comparable qualification (e.g., Certified Public Accountant)
• At least 5 years of experience in general ledger accounting within an international group, preferably publicly traded; retail experience is a plus
• Initial leadership responsibility is an advantage
• Very good knowledge of HGB; IFRS desirable
• Project experience in digitalization and automation topics
• Very good knowledge of SAP R/3 or S/4HANA (FI, CO; ideally: RE-FX, BI) and Excel
• Analytical mindset, hands-on mentality, high self-motivation
• Good English skills as well as strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
