Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Head of Engineering to lead our engineering function across design, project execution, and innovation. This is a leadership role responsible for ensuring high-quality engineering delivery, faster execution, and development of scalable, standardised solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and manage the complete engineering function including design, thermal engineering, and automation
  • Define engineering strategies aligned with company growth and technology roadmap
  • Drive standardisation and modularisation of product designs

Project Engineering & Execution

  • Oversee engineering deliverables across projects (GA drawings, P&IDs, BOMs, fabrication drawings)
  • Ensure timely and error‑free design release
  • Work closely with cross‑functional teams (Sales, Production, Installation)

Design & Technical Excellence

  • Establish design validation processes and engineering standards
  • Ensure accuracy in thermal calculations, burner sizing, and system design
  • Minimise design‑related errors and rework

Innovation & Product Development

  • Lead development of hydrogen‑compatible systems, low NOx burners, and WHR solutions
  • Support new product development and technology improvements

Team Management & Development

  • Build and lead a high‑performance engineering team
  • Develop training programs, SOPs, and knowledge systems
  • Reduce dependency on individuals through structured processes

Process & Systems Implementation

  • Implement engineering SOPs, checklists, and documentation standards
  • Drive adoption of design tools and simulation
  • Ensure alignment with ERP systems

Cost & Value Engineering

  • Identify opportunities for design optimisation and cost reduction
  • Improve product efficiency while maintaining performance

Key Requirements

Experience

  • 12+ years in industrial furnace / combustion / thermal engineering
  • Experience in steel, non‑ferrous, or heat treatment industries preferred
  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams and handling multiple projects

Technical Skills

  • Strong fundamentals in heat transfer, combustion, and fluid mechanics
  • Experience with industrial burners, recuperators/regenerators, furnace design

Leadership Skills

  • Strong team management and decision‑making capabilities
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally and drive execution
  • Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in energy efficiency or decarbonisation technologies
  • Exposure to international projects or global clients
  • Familiarity with automation and control systems
