Head of Engineering – Satellite Avionics

About

We are looking for an experienced and visionary engineering leader to head our a new Avionics Hardware R&D team in Toulouse and drive the development of next-generation satellite platforms.

Reporting directly to the Engineering Director, you will lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for the design, integration, and validation of new on board electronic architectures across our space programs.

This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role combining technical authority, people management, innovation, and system architecture expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams developing satellite avionics architectures
• Oversee integration and testing activities during the AIT phase
• Manage engineering workload, resource allocation, and project priorities
• Support projects directly as a system architect and technical authority
• Drive engineering excellence, methodologies, and tool strategy
• Contribute to the engineering roadmap and technology innovation plans
• Ensure competitiveness, robustness, and performance of subsystem solutions
• Support proposal activities including technical concepts, architectures, and cost estimation
• Promote knowledge capitalization and reuse of technological building blocks

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in satellite electronics and/or avionics architecture development
• Strong expertise in complex systems engineering and space technologies
• Experience managing technical teams in demanding engineering environments
• Solid understanding of satellite architectures and system performance drivers
• Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills
• Fluent English (written and spoken)
