Head of General Ledger Accounting

Overview

Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Head of General Ledger Accounting within the Accounting Team in France.

As an accountant you will be a virtual part in the Finance community. The Head of General Ledger Accounting is responsible for leading and overseeing the general ledger team and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial accounting for ADS SAS and its French subsidiaries. This role owns the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes and ensures financial statements are prepared in accordance with accounting principles (IFRS, France GAAP), Airbus Group rules and other internal or external regulations. The position plays a key role in maintaining strong internal controls and continuously improving accounting processes and systems.

Financials & Reporting

• Responsible for preparing Financial Statements reports and submitting them in a timely manner.
• Responsible for the intercompany reconciliation process with other group entities (prepare and upload data in Airbus Group tools e.g. ICART, FACTS+, etc., resolve differences, improve processes together with trading partner entities).
• Regular coordination and communication with Airbus Defence and Space Consolidation team.
• Ensure that Airbus processes and compliance regulations are in place.
• Perform analytical balance sheet reviews with auditors and the consolidation team.
• Preparation of the Deferred Tax package.

Coordination for Annual Audits (Internal & External)

• Take a lead role in coordinating internal and external Financial Audits.
• Prepare various statements as requested by auditors.
• Contribute to tax audits.

Supervision of Accounting Operation & Closing Activities

• Provide guidance and support to the general ledger team, overseeing day-to-day operations, reviewing work for accuracy and completeness, and promoting professional development.
• Be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing by efficiently supervising accounting operations.
• Supervise TVA, TVTS-CFE-CVAE-Organic declarations for ADS SAS and its subsidiaries in cooperation with the Airbus group tax team.
• Have the ability to manage people and create a team that can deliver the desired results.

Support Continuous Improvements, Digitalization and Automation

• Support SAP migration projects within the ERP Roadmap of Airbus Defence and Space and the implementation of other financial tools that enhance operational effectiveness.
• Ensure implementation compliance, segregation of duties and internal controls rules.
• Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation.
• Support the Head of Accounting, the Consolidation Team and other Finance departments in special projects.

Required skills

• Master Degree in Accounting
• 10 years of accounting and/or audit experience

En tant que comptable, vous ferez partie intégrante de la communauté Finance. Le/la Responsable de la Comptabilité Générale est chargé(e) de diriger et de superviser l’équipe de comptabilité générale et de garantir une comptabilité financière précise, réalisée dans les délais et conforme pour ADS SAS et ses filiales françaises. Ce poste est responsable des processus de clôture mensuelle, trimestrielle et annuelle et veille à ce que les états financiers soient préparés conformément aux principes comptables (IFRS, normes françaises), aux règles du Groupe Airbus ainsi qu’aux autres réglementations internes et externes. La fonction joue un rôle clé dans le maintien de contrôles internes solides et dans l’amélioration continue des processus et systèmes comptables.

Finance & Reporting

• Responsable de la préparation des états financiers et de leur soumission dans les délais.
• Responsable du processus de réconciliation inter-compagnies avec les autres entités du groupe (préparer et télécharger les données dans les outils du Groupe Airbus tels que ICART, FACTS+, etc., résoudre les écarts, améliorer les processus avec les entités partenaires).
• Coordination et communication régulières avec l’équipe Consolidation d’Airbus Defence and Space.
• Veiller à la mise en place des processus Airbus et au respect des exigences de conformité.
• Réaliser des revues analytiques du bilan avec les auditeurs et l’équipe consolidation.
• Préparation du package d’impôts différés.
