Stax are partnered with a leading unmanned aerial systems manufacturer to find a senior technical leader for a critical hire.

This is a rare opportunity to take full technical ownership of ground-based automation systems for long-endurance UAS platforms — on technology already proven in operational environments.

The role:

Our client is expanding their autonomy capabilities on the ground — enabling autonomous deployment, handling and recovery of airborne platforms. They need someone who can lead the architecture, not just execute it.

What you'll own:

• Architecture of automated ground systems for autonomous UAS deployment & recovery

• Full mechanical lifecycle — concept through production

• Integration across robotics, sensors, control algorithms and embedded software

• Validation campaigns, supplier coordination and non-conformity resolution

• Building and mentoring a robotics/mechatronics engineering team

Who we're looking for:

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Robotics

• Significant experience in robotics, automated systems, precision machinery or industrial automation

• Deep expertise in kinematics, actuation, motion systems and tolerance stack-up analysis

• Proven track record of end-to-end ownership of complex technical systems

• Advanced CAD, PLM and mechanical validation experience
