Head of Software & AI Engineering - AzurionEye

Experteer Overview In this role you lead the AzurionEye software and AI R&D, building a multidisciplinary team to deliver AI-enabled imaging solutions. You shape the technical roadmap and ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance across the software stack. You will collaborate with hardware, clinical R&D, product management, and quality teams to translate clinical needs into robust products. This is a hands-on leadership role with a strong impact on patient outcomes and innovation.

Arbeidsvoorwaarden / Benefits • Build and scale the Azurion Eye Software & AI R&D team (15–20 engineers) and foster high performance • Drive the technical roadmap and ensure on-schedule delivery with Philips quality and safety standards • Provide technical leadership across software stack (AI/ML, front-end, back-end, embedded/clinical software) • Establish modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, secure development, reproducible ML pipelines and MLOps • Ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety by design, with software lifecycle practices, risk management, verification and validation • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, system integration, clinical R&D, product management, quality, and regulatory teams • Foster an inclusive engineering culture, coach team members, and represent the team in leadership forums and with external partners

Verantwoordelijkheden • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field • 7+ years of technical software engineering leadership experience • At least 3 years in people management with a proven track record of scaling teams • Hands-on experience delivering AI-enabled products, including ML lifecycle, validation, and production deployment • Strong expertise in cloud and on-prem architectures, CI/CD, automated testing, secure development, and infrastructure as code • Proven ability to lead in regulated environments (medical devices, healthcare) with emphasis on patient safety and product quality • Fluency in English; Dutch is a plus • Experience with medical imaging, computer vision, or launching new product initiatives is a plus
