About the Role
As Head of Solution Engineer, you'll play a dual-critical role — driving Enterprise success today while building the foundation for tomorrow's Solutions Delivery organization. You'll serve as our most senior technical advisor to Enterprise customers, architecting AI agent strategies across chat and voice, while preparing to lead and scale our Solutions Engineering function within 6 months.
This is a rare opportunity for a conversational AI veteran to leverage deep technical expertise in a customer-facing role while transitioning into strategic leadership under our Head of Revenue.
Scope of Role
Customer-Facing Excellence (Months 1–6)
- Serve as principal technical advisor to our most strategic Enterprise accounts
- Architect AI agent solutions that integrate Voiceflow into complex enterprise ecosystems
- Lead executive discovery and design workshops
- Own solution delivery from proof of concept through production
- Hands-on coding to eliminate blockers and build custom integrations
- Build trusted advisor relationships with customer technical and business leaders
Leadership & Function-Building (Months 3–6+)
- Design the operational framework for a world-class Solutions Delivery practice
- Build repeatable playbooks for solution scoping, delivery, and customer enablement
- Establish success metrics and quality standards for the Solutions org
- Partner with Head of Revenue on org structure, hiring, and growth roadmap
- Transition into formal leadership of the Solutions Engineering and Delivery team
- Drive alignment across Solutions, Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success
Strategic Impact
- Be the voice of the customer to Product and Engineering
- Develop reusable solution accelerators and reference architectures
- Contribute thought leadership on AI agent design and enterprise implementation
- Build strategic partnerships with system integrators and technology partners
Qualifications
Required Experience
- 8+ years in conversational AI (IVR, NLU, chatbots, LLM-based agents)
- 10+ years in solutions engineering, solution architecture, or technical consulting
- 8+ years leading Solutions Engineering, Delivery, or Professional Services teams
- Proven track record at a scaling AI or conversational design startup
- Experience building processes and operational infrastructure from scratch
Technical Mastery
- Expert in conversational design: dialogue management, context handling, error recovery, multi-turn flows
- Hands-on with LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, function calling, and MCP
- Strong coding in JavaScript, Node.js, and React
- Enterprise integrations: Salesforce, Microsoft, Twilio, Genesys, Zendesk, AWS, Azure, GCP
- Deep understanding of enterprise security, scalability, and deployment patterns
Leadership & Strategic Capabilities
- Demonstrated success building and scaling technical teams
- Executive presence — able to influence C-suite and technical architects alike
- Track record of building high-performing, customer-obsessed cultures
- Strong cross-functional collaboration across Sales, Product, Engineering, and CS
Essential Attributes

- Exceptional communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong execution discipline in dynamic, fast-moving environments

- Willingness to travel approximately 20–30%
Bonus Qualifications
- Python, Java, or C# experience
- DevOps, CI/CD, Docker, or Kubernetes background
- Management consulting or system integration experience
- Published thought leadership or conference speaking in conversational AI
- Background in linguistics, HCI, or cognitive science
