About
IntePros is seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Management professional to support our award-winning healthcare clients' clinical documentation quality, compliance, and audit readiness across the organization. This role is responsible for auditing and monitoring medical record documentation to ensure adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards, including those set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (JC), and the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH). This role is primarily remote, but will require occasional onsite meeting attendance in Philadelphia, PA.
The position also supports electronic health record workflows across systems including Epic and ChartMaxx, ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and secure handling of patient health information. This individual will play a key role in maintaining data consistency, supporting compliance initiatives, and assisting with system-related documentation processes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct retrospective chart reviews to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and federal and state regulations while validating the accuracy of scanned documentation within Epic and ChartMaxx
- Audit Epic and ChartMaxx scanned images and monitor the integrity of interfaced transcription reports and scan links between systems
- Support Epic Release to Inspector functionality for enterprise-level monitored record audits
- Monitor failed fax distributions of discharge summaries and assist with notification processes for referring providers and primary care physicians
- Manage HIM ServiceNow work queues, including ChartMaxx account creation requests and Epic scan deletion requests
- Partner with hospital record custodians to support record access workflows for approved users
- Monitor FairWarning alerts and notify end users when accounts are flagged
- Investigate and resolve integration issues such as name changes, aliases, and record merges within ChartMaxx
- Collaborate with Information Systems teams to troubleshoot software issues and resolve system-related requests
- Ensure data integrity and consistent patient identifiers across Epic, ChartMaxx, and transcription systems
- Support compliance initiatives related to healthcare regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and patient information privacy
- Maintain compliance with enterprise information security policies and procedures
- Assist with activities related to the management and lifecycle of paper medical records as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of progressive experience in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related healthcare documentation environment
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems, ideally Epic
- Experience working with medical record auditing, documentation review, or compliance monitoring
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy across multiple information systems
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including clinical, HIM, and IT stakeholders
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
