Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager

A leading Utilities, Site & Civil Contractor is seeking a dedicated and skilled Heavy Civil Construction Project Manager to oversee exciting site and utilities projects. If you are a motivated self-starter with a passion for heavy civil construction and the ability to manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships independently, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities

• Lead heavy civil and site projects from initiation to completion.
• Oversee project schedules, workforce, equipment, and daily site activities to ensure smooth operations.
• Track project changes, delays, and their impacts effectively.
• Prepare and manage owner change orders and monthly billing processes.
• Review and approve subcontractor pay applications and vendor invoices.
• Conduct material and quantity takeoffs to ensure accuracy.
• Solicit and assess subcontractor/vendor quotes to guarantee competitiveness.
• Maintain updated estimating tools, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Facilitate coordination among owners, subcontractors, vendors, field staff, and office teams to promote efficiency.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in heavy civil or site construction (Virginia experience preferred).
• Strong background in utilities construction.
• Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications proficiently.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in computer applications; Excel proficiency is a must.
• Estimating experience is an added advantage.
