Household Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Household Assistant to support the smooth running of a private residence in Wellington. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organised home environment, as well as assisting with meal preparation and laundry care.

Key Responsibilities

• General household cleaning (sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming)
• Laundry duties including washing, ironing, and packing away clothing
• Preparing and cooking basic, nutritious meals
• Maintaining a tidy and organised living space
• Managing household supplies and reporting shortages
• Adhering to hygiene and safety standards within the home

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in a similar household assistant / housekeeping role
• Ability to clean thoroughly and efficiently
• Competence in cooking a variety of simple meals
• Strong ironing and laundry skills
• Good communication skills in both English and Afrikaans
• Trustworthy, reliable, and punctual
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must reside in Wellington or surrounds
• Available immediately
• Fit and Healthy

Working Hours

• 3 days per week (to be agreed)
• Alternate weekends (Saturday and/or Sunday as required)
