The Role
Our client, a growing organization within the manufacturing and distribution industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Assistant to join their team. This role will begin as a part-time opportunity with a strong path to becoming full-time for the right candidate.
This position plays a key role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, primarily focused on employee onboarding, offboarding, payroll coordination, HRIS administration, and ensuring employee records are accurate and compliant. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with strict payroll deadlines.

Responsibilities
HRIS & Payroll Administration
- Maintain employee records within HRIS (ADP preferred), ensuring all employee information is accurate and entered in time for payroll processing
- Process new hires, terminations, status changes, and employee updates through CSV uploads and system administration
- Act as the primary HR contact for payroll-related employee data and coordination with payroll and finance teams
- Review ADP reports regularly to ensure data integrity and resolve discrepancies as needed
Joiner / Mover / Leaver (JML) Process
- Support onboarding, internal transfers, and offboarding processes to ensure compliance and completion of all required steps
- Issue employment documents for digital signing and maintain completed documentation
- Manage benefit enrollments and employee records filing
- Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR-related questions and support
Talent Acquisition Support
- Assist with job postings across platforms such as Indeed
- Support candidate screening and interview scheduling
- Coordinate with hiring managers throughout the recruitment process
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain HR metrics and tracking spreadsheets using Excel
- Support reporting functions and ongoing HR administrative tasks
- Assist with additional HR duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or a related HR administrative role
- Strong understanding of provincial labour laws and payroll processes
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (ADP strongly preferred)
- Experience using ERP systems (Netsuite preferred)
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and video conferencing platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines
- High attention to detail with a meticulous and highly accurate working style (must-have)
- Strong technical aptitude and comfort learning and navigating systems quickly (must-have)
- Organized, dependable, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
